All About Pensacola, Florida and its homes One of the world's top bayside & gulfside communities

Pensacola, Florida is the westernmost city along the Florida Panhandle, and also the westernmost tip of the picturesque Emerald Coast. Famous worldwide for its sugar white sands, emerald blue-green waters, and pleasant weather all year round, Pensacola is the largest city in the North Florida with the exception of Tallahassee and Jacksonville. With a bustling downtown area often referred to as a miniature New Orleans, colleges, sports teams, museums, a big mall, suburbs, and more, Pensacola is a city unlike any other, even without having bodies of water such as the Gulf of Mexico or Pensacola Bay alongside it.

While you will find all your favorite stores, from Target to Wal-Mart to Publix and Dillard’s, the sheer amount of boutiques and locally owned shops is astounding. On the flip side of that coin, where Pensacola has all of your favorite chain restaurants, such as Red Lobster, BJ’s, Chili’s, Saltgrass Steakhouse and beyond, we also host a number of delicious locally owned eateries serving up everything from BBQ to Thai to Cajun. Of course, our seafood is without mention, or, more accurately, pure mouthwatering delight!

Pensacola doesn’t just have the conveniences of a major city dabbed with small town southern charm, it hosts a deep history which encourages not only local pride, but a love of history, as the area where Pensacola now sits was actually the first Spanish settlement within the continental United States. All across the eras of this nation’s growth are there historic landmarks here, from old buildings, churches, the Seville Historic District’s downtown, Ft. Pickens (near Pensacola Beach in the Gulf Islands National Seashore) and more.

As someone who was born and raised in this area, I love Pensacola like a fish loves the sea, or like I love most of our locally owned restaurants in downtown Pensacola. A city of opportunity, education, natural beauty and astounding architecture, Pensacola houses so many people because who wouldn’t want to live in a place like it!
